
Sehyog Interaction Session concludes with public feedback
Public expresses gratitude to CP Jalandhar for efforts in crime prevention, traffic congestion reduction, and more
Jalandhar, (H S Chawla) :- Swapan Sharma IPS, Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, addressed the public following an interactive meeting on the SEHYOG Project. After extensive discussions, CP Jalandhar engaged with attendees, encouraging them to raise concerns of public interest, assuring them of his commitment to resolving these issues.


* Major Singh, a former Councillor, expressed appreciation for the Commissioner’s outreach, noting it was the first time a Commissioner has conducted a session in the West Area. He especially commended CP Jalandhar’s initiative to manage traffic congestion at Ravidass Chowk and praised the efforts to curb drug-related issues in the Bhargo Camp and surrounding areas.
* Raman Bedi highlighted a longstanding issue where liquor was served in private vehicles outside liquor bars in the PPR Market area. However, with the intervention of the Commissionerate Police, this problem has now been resolved, and police patrolling has increased in the surrounding areas.

* Raj Kumar, another attendee, welcomed the police’s enforcement of traffic rules and emphasized that following traffic regulations is a citizen’s responsibility. However, he also urged the police to ensure that innocent and working individuals are not penalized unnecessarily.
* Subhash Goriya raised the concern of tenant verification for individuals residing in paying guest (PG) accommodations. He noted that landlords often neglect to verify tenants, leading to situations where some tenants commit crimes and then leave untraceably.
* Another attendee Rajesh Bhagat, mentioned instances of blackmailing the public by filing RTIs as a means of coercion. CP Jalandhar assured that the police would work to prevent such blackmailing activities.
In conclusion, attendees expressed optimism that this initiative would significantly contribute to promptly addressing public grievances, seizing drugs, illicit liquor and illegal arms and many more. Many also commended the Commissioner of Police for his actions against anti-social elements and maintaining law and order in the city.
