“NCC Camp Concludes with Exemplary Display of Discipline and Leadership”

Jalandhar, (H S CHAWLA) :- The 10-day rigorous National Cadet Corps (NCC) camp, organized by 2 PB Bn NCC Jalandhar at DAV University, culminated today, marking the successful completion of intensive military training for college and school youth. The final day was a testament to the cadets unwavering discipline and dedication, featuring inter-company drill competitions which is the backbone of military training.

The morning kicked off with high-octane drill competitions, where all four companies—Joginder, Bana, Karam, and Sekhon (named after Param Vir Chakra awardees)—showcased the peak of their training. Every single cadet participated, demonstrating synchronized movements. This comprehensive participation underscored the importance of drill in fostering discipline, teamwork, and a profound sense of responsibility and instilling the core values essential for becoming responsible citizens.

Beyond drill, several cadets who demonstrated exemplary performance in various training activities and exhibited strong leadership qualities were promoted to various NCC ranks. This recognition highlights their commitment and potential. Cadets also gained valuable insights into the significance of the Quarter Guard, a ceremonial duty that symbolizes security and honor, reinforcing the importance of vigilance and upholding military traditions.

Beyond physical training, Cadets attended highly educative and informative talks by experts from various government agencies. Sessions on Cyber Security by Punjab Police and Health & Hygiene by Gynecologist provided crucial knowledge. Experts from SDRF for Disaster Management and Civil Defence conducted practical demonstrations. Fire Fighting demonstration by Punjab Fire Service equipped cadets with vital survival and emergency response skills. Furthermore, Drone Training by experts from LPU. Talks on avenues and opportunities in the Defence Forces Col Vinod Joshi inspired cadets to consider a career in service to the nation. The primary purpose of this military training is to mold NCC cadets into responsible citizens, fostering not just physical prowess but also comprehensive personality development.

The evening culminated in a vibrant cultural program, graced by Professor Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of DAV University, as the Chief Guest, and Brigadier Ajay Tiwari, Sena Medal, Group Commander NCC Jalandhar, as the Guest of Honour. Cadets mesmerized the audience with an array of folk dances and cultural events, beautifully representing the diverse heritage of India, with a special focus on Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Their performances were a testament to their diverse talents.

The cultural evening concluded with Professor Dr. Manoj Kumar and Brigadier Ajay Tiwari felicitating the winners of various competitions held throughout the camp. Their presence and words of encouragement motivated the cadets, reinforcing the value of their dedication and hard work.  The 10-day camp successfully achieved its objective of imparting tough military training while simultaneously nurturing personality development and civic responsibility among the youth, preparing them to be valuable assets to the nation.
