
Jalandhar, (H S Chawla) :- In a decisive move to address rising social challenges, Jalandhar Rural Police convened a critical Sampark meeting that brought together top police leadership and local community members. The high-profile meeting on 25.11.2024 at Majestic Risot Village, Hazara Police Station Patara area, was strategically led by Mr. Naveen Singla, IPS, DIG of Jalandhar Range and Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural.

DIG Jalandhar Range, Naveen Singla IPS presided over the meeting. Other attendees included Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh, SSP Jalandhar Rural. Mukhtiar Rai, PPS, SP Headquarters; Mr. Kulwant Singh, PPS, DSP Sub Division Adampur; Inspector Hardevpreet Singh, SHO of Police Station Patara and Inspector Ravinderpal Singh, SHO of Adampur Police Station.
During the meeting, discussions centred on addressing drug addiction and community safety. Mr. Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh emphasised the importance of public cooperation in addressing social issues. He stressed that eliminating drug addiction requires active participation from every community member.

Mr. Kulwant Singh shared information about recent anti-drug operations and efforts to control drug trafficking in the region. He highlighted the need for collective action in creating a safer environment.
The meeting also covered important topics related to cybercrime awareness. Participants received guidance on protecting themselves from digital threats. Information was shared about the Punjab Government’s helpline 1930 and the emergency response system 112, which provides assistance within 20-25 minutes of reporting.
Local residents actively participated in the discussion, showing interest in supporting community safety initiatives. There was a collective discussion about forming village-level support committees and working together to address local challenges.
The Sampark meeting provided an opportunity for open dialogue between police officers and community members, focusing on collaborative approaches to social issues.
